Model Parliament would not be possible without its Committee Members who put in countless hours of work. Their dedication and passion for the event drive them to provide participants with this unique and inspirational event year after year. Participants are invited to reach out to the Model Parliament Committee Members for any questions or advice through the email info@uottawampsp.com. The Committee Members will always be available to help to make participants' experiences as enjoyable as possible.

Governor General

In his role as the Vice-President of Political Science in the student association IPPSSA, Matthew Boulden holds the title of Governor General and Chair on the Model Parliament Committee. In his mandate, he must organize and assemble the MPSP Committee and is tasked with ensuring that the event runs smoothly.


Bilingualism Team

The Bilingualism Team, comprised of Connor Walsh and Megan Spooner, is responsible for ensuring that all communications for the event are bilingual and free of error. This involves translating all of the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and website text to ensure that English and French are both accurately respected. Also, the Bilingualism Team is tasked with reaching out to Francophone students to ensure that the representation of our Francophone participants is on par with our Anglophone participants.

Communications Team

The Communications Team is in charge of publishing content from our social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. They also upload and create interesting graphics and videos to keep our participants engaged and updated on the progress of our Model Parliament timeline. Lastly, the Communication Team handles all correspondence over the Model Parliament email.

Finance Director

Jes Francis is responsible for tracking and reimbursing all expenses made by the Model Parliament Committee. They must ensure that our expenses do not exceed our revenue, and that all costs are accounted for.

Sponsorship & Guest Speaker Director

Daniel Perry is responsible for reaching out to sponsors for support for the Model Parliament Event. Sponsorship is a crucial component of putting on our event and providing the best possible experience to our participants. Daniel also coordinates the guest speakers to make speeches during the Model Parliament sitting days. Guest speakers share their vast political knowledge and experiences with our participants and help to inspire future generations.

Internal Director

Bailee Johnson is responsible for a variety of tasks, which allows our participants to engage with the event. The main goals of the Internal Team are the organizing of registration of our participants, the assignment of ridings, and tracking party selections.

Social Events Team

The Social Events Team is tasked with the planning and execution of the various Model Parliament social events prior and during the sitting days. The events that the Social Events Team put on include MPSP 101, All-Party Party, Leaders Debate, Election Night, several bar nights, and Closing Ceremonies.
