Model Parliament would not be possible without its Planning Committee Members who put in countless hours of work. Their dedication and passion for the event drive them to provide participants with this unique and inspirational event year after year. Ryan Chang
Director of MPSP & Governor General of Canada
The Right Honourable Ryan Chang (he/him) leads the committee as Governor General of Canada for MPSP 2026. He is a sixth-year student in Political Science with a minor in Asian Studies.
He is the elected Member of Parliament for Mississauga East—Cooksville.
Rose Dagenais
Speaker of the House of Commons
The Right Honourable Rose Dagenais (she/her) serves as the Speaker of the House of Commons for MPSP 2026. She is a former Prime Minister and a fifth-year student in International Development and Globalization with a minor in Political Science.
She is the elected Member of Parliament for Abitibi—Témiscamingue.
Liam Hume
Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons
The Right Honourable Liam Hume (he/him) serves as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons for MPSP 2026. He is a third-year student in Public Administration and Political Science.
He is the elected Member of Parliament for Nunavut.
Brandon Ly
Clerk of the House of Commons
The Right Honourable Brandon Ly (any pronouns) serves as the Clerk of the House of Commons for MPSP 2026. He is a former Prime Minister and a fifth-year student in Political Science and Public Administration.
He is the elected Member of Parliament for Hull—Aylmer.
Ilyas Jaffer
Deputy Clerk of the House of Commons
The Honourable Ilyas Jaffer (he/him) serves as the Deputy Clerk of the House of Commons for MPSP 2026. He is a fourth-year student in Physics and Mathematics.
He is the outgoing Member of Parliament for Lac-Saint-Louis.
Sam Montgomery

Ava Schumann (she/her) serves as the Director of Internal Affairs for MPSP 2026. She is a second-year student in Political Science and Juris Doctor (JD).
She is the elected Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre.

Gaëlle Veilleux-Michaud

The Honourable Gaëlle Veilleux-Michaud (she/her) serves as the Director of Social Events (Francophone) for MPSP 2026. She is a fifth-year student in Interdisciplinary Studies.
